Every great adventure begins at home. For me, that home is a world of endless 'Whys' from my six-year-old daughter and the joyful, unexpected discoveries of my two-year-old son. As we traveled together, watching the world through their eyes, I saw more than just landscapes; I saw the best classroom on Earth.
Laly Llama isn’t just a character—she is the spirit of my daughter’s bravery. Daten Llama carries the sweet curiosity of my son. Alongside Mama Llama and Papa Llama, they represent my own family, navigating the beauty of global cultures, the whispers of history, and the vital importance of kindness. I wrote these books because I want every child to feel that same spark of wonder for our planet and its people.

If the world wouldn’t fund our seeds of change, I would grow them myself.
Laly Llama y su alegre familia llegan a Puerto Inca, Huánuco, Perú, a bordo de su vibrante mototaxi, listos para nuevas aventuras. But there is a deeper reason behind these pages. As the founder of Semillas Life NGO, my heart is in the Peruvian Amazon. Despite our dedication, we receive no financial support from government or international institutions. We are standing alone to protect the 'lungs of the planet' and educate its children.
I realized that if the world wouldn’t fund our seeds of change, I would grow them myself. Laly Llama was born as a bridge—a way to turn stories into survival. By bringing Laly into your home, you aren't just buying a book; you are providing the lifeblood for our educational projects and reforestation efforts. You are helping us continue a mission that has no other safety net. From my family to yours, thank you for helping us keep the Amazon, and the dreams of its children, alive.
